Migration Specialist - Office 365

Assignment Description A senior technical professional who can lead and drive a tenant-to-tenant migration. The role involves responsibility for planning, coordinating, and executing the migration between two Microsoft 365/Azure AD tenants, with a focus on minimal business impact. You will serve as the technical lead and work closely with project management, architects, security teams, and business representatives. The assignment includes analysis of the current environment, target design, migration strategy, as well as operational execution and follow-up. Responsibilities: Plan the migration initiative Participate in defining migration strategy Clean and purge objects Document existing resources that need to be migrated Ensure proper handling of identities, access, and security Coordinate migration of services such as Exchange Online/On-Prem, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams Manage dependencies, risks, and mitigations Identify and manage domain dependencies prior to migration Identify third-party dependencies to domains and identities/applications Ensure documentation, communication, and handover Create and execute PowerShell scripts as needed Create a migration Playbook for "big bang" migration Provide technical decision support to project management and steering committee Competency Description Technical Competencies: Deep experience with Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams) Strong knowledge of Azure AD/Entra ID (identity management, federation, sync via Azure AD Connect) and understanding of on-premises AD dependencies Experience with tenant-to-tenant migrations Experience with PowerShell for automation and scripting Understanding of networking, DNS, domain transfers, and authentication flows Methodology and Working Approach: Experience leading technical projects or assignments in complex IT environments Ability to develop migration plans, cutover plans, and rollback strategies Experience working systematically with risk management and change management Experience with agile and/or traditional project methodologies Meritorious: Certifications in Microsoft 365, Azure, or security Previous work in regulatory-governed environments Your Application Does the role sound interesting and suitable?
