The State Forest Service announces a competition for the position of Forest Ranger at the Aronas circuit of the Madona forestry of the Vidzeme Regional Forestry of the State Forest Service for an indefinite period.
Requirements for candidates:
- Compliance with the requirements of Article 7 of the State Civil Service Law;
- Bachelor's degree or first-level higher education in forestry;
- Ability to use navigation equipment and forestry measuring instruments;
- Ability to work with information systems;
- Knowledge of administrative procedures;
- Record-keeping and business documentation formatting skills;
- Category B driver's license allowing operation of vehicles with manual transmission.
Main job duties:
- Practically monitor compliance with regulatory acts governing forest management, forest and environmental protection, hunting, and fire protection in the designated territory and assess their operational effectiveness;
- Know the designated territory using GPS receivers for work;
- Know the hunting districts in the supervised territory and the hunting agreement area register;
- Participate in forest fire detection, carry out forest fire containment, elimination, and monitoring;
- Prepare administrative acts, make decisions on initiating administrative proceedings, apply administrative penalties.
