Job Description
At SAAB's Product Development department, we are now seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with an interest in product development, hardware, and mechanics.
Their Mechanics team is responsible for implementing new development and maintenance of product hardware within SAAB Training & Simulations' various product areas.
As a comprehensive team focused on design, you will work closely with the development and production teams to come up with ideas and develop new features as the world's needs change. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will primarily be involved in various types of R&D and customer projects.
Together with experienced engineers, you will work on developing products that meet the specified functional and environmental requirements. The work includes, among other things, troubleshooting, process development, and detailed design.
There is also an opportunity to visit customers and verify the systems on-site.
There is considerable room for your own initiatives and creativity. In addition to working on product development of their products, they expect you to contribute with improvements to working methods.
The position requires that you complete and receive approval according to applicable security clearance regulations at any time. For positions where SAAB has security classification requirements, this may, in some cases, require specific citizenship.
Qualifications
We are looking for you with a master's, civil, or candidate degree in mechanics, mechanical engineering, or product development, and with strong competence in mechanical design. You have experience with CAD, preferably CATIA V5, and work in a structured, careful, and independent manner. At the same time, you are a team player with good collaboration skills and communicate fluently in both Swedish and English.
