Markverkstad Uppland is a unit within the Ground Equipment Workshop Unit (MvE), which is part of the Army Staff (AST). MvE performs maintenance on the Swedish Armed Forces' ground equipment, air base equipment, and provides technical system support. This includes maintenance in the form of inspection, repairs, manufacturing, disassembly/scrapping, modifications, operational support, technical adaptation, and material inspection. The Ground Equipment Workshop Unit delivers services according to customer requirements.

Main Responsibilities
As a vehicle mechanic, you will mainly work with maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of vehicles, machinery, and equipment used by the Swedish Armed Forces, such as wheeled vehicles, wheel loaders, trucks, tracked vehicles, masts, containers, and power generators. The work involves both preventive and corrective maintenance as well as modification and reconstruction based on established guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
At least completed two- or three-year upper secondary education with a focus on vehicle technology or equivalent, alternatively competence acquired through professional experience as assessed by the employer to be equivalent
Previous relevant experience working as a mechanic
Computer skills
Good knowledge of technology and troubleshooting
Good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing
Class B driver's license

MERITORIOUS
Previous experience working with vehicle electrical systems and hydraulics in similar areas
Experience with maintenance of heavy vehicles and/or mechanics
Refrigeration certificate
Experience and knowledge of masts, power generators, and vehicle electronics
Class C or CE driver's license
Truck/wheel loader training
Traverse training
Experience and knowledge of workshop operations and material maintenance in the Swedish Armed Forces
OTHER INFORMATION
Type of employment: permanent position starting with a 6-month probationary period
Employment level: full-time, daytime - shift work may be applied
Work location: Enköping
Start date: As soon as possible by agreement
Work also requires travel and service, both domestic and abroad.
The position is a civilian appointment.
Work with hardening baths occurs at the ground equipment workshop and requires health check-ups.
