1 position(s). Medical Director of Rehabilitation (MAR) Starting July 1, 2026, all Swedish municipalities must have a Medical Director of Rehabilitation (MAR). Many municipalities are recruiting now, but few can offer the opportunity, mandate, and context that exists in Norrtälje. Health Care and Social Services in Norrtälje (KSON) is now seeking our new MAR. We're looking for you to use your experience, judgment, and professional expertise to shape and develop rehabilitation in one of Sweden's most exciting health and social care organizations. You'll have the opportunity to influence at the system level, contribute to good and safe care, and make a real difference for residents' independence, health, and quality of life. Perhaps you're an occupational therapist or physiotherapist with extensive experience from municipal health and social care. Perhaps you've worked with quality development, patient safety, assistive devices, or operational development. You will: Help shape and establish the MAR function from the start Have a strategic and independent assignment with significant influence Be able to influence the development of rehabilitation at the system level Hold a central role in quality, patient safety, and person-centered care work Benefit from short decision-making paths and good opportunities to turn ideas into action Work with experienced and engaged colleagues focused on collaboration, quality, and development The Assignment As MAR, you are KSON's highest expert function within the rehabilitation field. You're responsible for ensuring that rehabilitation, habilitation, and assistive device services are delivered with high quality and patient safety within municipal health and social care. You lead and develop overall rehabilitation work through follow-up, analysis, quality development, and expert support to operations and providers. In this role, you will, among other things: • Develop, monitor, and improve guidelines, procedures, and governing documents • Monitor quality, patient safety, and incidents within the rehabilitation field • Provide qualified support and advice to managers, providers, and colleagues • Contribute to evidence-based, equitable, and safe rehabilitation • Support operations with questions about rehabilitation, habilitation, self-care, and assistive devices • Collaborate with actors within municipal and regional health and social care You work independently but never alone. The assignment involves close collaboration with operations, providers, and other key stakeholders in health and social care. Welcome to us Health Care and Social Services in Norrtälje (KSON) is a unique collaboration between Norrtälje Municipality and Region Stockholm. The assignment is to meet the municipality's residents' needs for health, social care, and services. KSON thus has unique conditions to seamlessly provide residents with effective comprehensive solutions and is governed by a board with elected representatives from Region Stockholm and Norrtälje Municipality. Part of the Norrtälje Model. KSON has agreements with many providers and also operates health and social care in-house through the wholly-owned company Tiohundra AB. The budget amounts to approximately 4.8 billion kronor, and we currently have approximately 120 employees, primarily with commissioning, ownership, and authority tasks in the administration. We work with commissioning, follow-up, and development of health and social care in close collaboration with both private providers and the wholly-owned company Tiohundra AB.
