The Workplace The Social Services Department in Trelleborg is seeking a Medical Director for Rehabilitation (MAR) for the Quality and Development Department. Here you will have a strategic and operational role where you, in close collaboration with the Medical Director of Nursing (MAS), managers, and staff, contribute to patient-safe practices, clear processes, and rehabilitation that strengthens the individual's ability for independence and participation. The Quality and Development Department's mission is to deliver operationally close services to residents, staff, and politicians. The department provides services in administration, legal affairs, welfare technology, and system management, as well as operational and competence development. The workplace is located approximately five minutes' walk from the bus and train station. Job Tasks In this role, you work both strategically and operationally. You develop, follow up, and ensure quality of routines and processes, analyze risks and deviations, contribute to patient safety work, and provide support to managers and staff. You collaborate with the MAS and with managers within the department as well as with internal and external partners, such as primary care and other healthcare providers. As MAR, you have particular responsibility and a central role in ensuring high quality and patient safety within the areas of rehabilitation, habilitation, and assistive devices. In your assignment, you are responsible for developing, establishing, and following up routines, processes, and internal controls that strengthen quality in operations and contribute to safe and appropriate care in accordance with laws, regulations, and local governance documents. You work systematically with analyzing deviations, risks, and complaints, and identify and initiate improvement measures. Together with the MAS, you participate in investigation and management of serious healthcare injuries or risks for healthcare injuries. An important part of the assignment is to support managers, licensed personnel, and care staff through advice, training initiatives, and methodological support. You also contribute to creating safe care transitions by promoting collaboration, information transfer, and work with coordinated individual planning (SIP). Furthermore, you participate in the preparation of patient safety reports, quality follow-ups, and the department's strategic development work. Through your work, you actively contribute to the Social Services Department's development toward more preventive, knowledge-based, and person-centered approaches. Qualifications We are looking for you who are a licensed physical therapist or occupational therapist. You have several years of experience in qualified rehabilitation work and good knowledge of municipal healthcare, patient safety, quality, and collaboration. You have a good understanding of the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL), the Social Services Act (SoL), patient safety legislation, and management systems for systematic quality work. You have experience working with routines, processes, deviations, risk analyses, internal controls, or improvement work. You express yourself very well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have good digital skills. It is meritorious if you have experience as MAR or in another expert/quality-focused role in municipal healthcare, as well as experience with assistive device processes, SIP, discharge cooperation, quality registers, and training initiatives. Personal Qualities To succeed in this role, you are a strategic and analytical person who can see the big picture, identify risks, and prioritize the right development and improvement initiatives. You work in a structured and quality-conscious manner, with the ability to translate legal requirements, guidelines, and identified improvement areas into clear and sustainable practices. You have an easy time building trusting relationships and enjoy collaborating with both managers and staff as well as external partners. With pedagogical and communication skills, you can explain complex issues clearly and create understanding and engagement in the organization. As a person, you are confident in your expert role and make well-founded decisions with good judgment. You take independent responsibility for your assignment, drive the work forward within given frameworks, and have a development-oriented approach where you actively contribute to improvements, learning, and long-term operational development.
