The function is staffed by the Ambulance Care Administration on behalf of the Health and Medical Care Administration and has an important role in coordinating the region's specialized resources. The work operates 24/7, year-round. As the assignment grows, we are now strengthening the team with more knowledgeable colleagues! You will begin with comprehensive introductory training and will participate in targeted training to strengthen your expertise in the field. You will also have the opportunity to rotate toward other functions based on your qualifications and operational needs, which provides broad experience and development opportunities within ambulance care. Your Assignment Medical Director is a function under continuous development within the region's prioritization and dispatch service, with a central role in coordinating the region's specialized resources. As a Medical Director, you work in a team with prehospital on-call physicians and operational coordinators. You coordinate the region's acute and on-call physician vehicles and ambulance helicopters by identifying the right assignment for the right resource, assessing cases, managing dispatch alerts, flight-following, and coordinating the region's helicopter landing sites. Your assignment is to ensure that resources are used optimally. Part of the expanded assignment involves working more actively with waiting patients. You make continuous assessments of needs to ensure that the right patient receives the right care at the right time. You also support other colleagues in the prioritization and dispatch service with medical assessments. Together with prehospital on-call physicians, you will identify cases for physician vehicles. Medical Director is staffed 24/7, year-round, as are acute and on-call physician vehicles and ambulance helicopters. This means that applicants should be prepared to work both day and night shifts, seven days a week. We are Looking For In the role of Medical Director, you need to be able to make medical assessments under time pressure, sometimes with limited information. You are confident in your professional role, structured, and accustomed to making decisions even when many factors must be weighed. You are good at prioritizing between interventions and quickly see what is most urgent. The role requires that you have a holistic perspective, not just on the individual assignment but on the entire care chain. You thrive in collaboration with others and have communication skills that allow you to listen, express yourself clearly, and contribute to good cooperation with various functions. Accuracy and judgment are important, as is the willingness to develop work methods together with colleagues. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities. Qualifications Specialist nurse with at least three years of professional experience and prehospital experience. You have full command of Swedish in both speech and writing and good knowledge of English. Good knowledge of the medical treatment guidelines and prehospital directives applicable to ambulance care in Stockholm. Completed training in AMLS and PS. We work in an IT-intensive environment with several different systems that you will learn here. We expect you to master the basics of the most common Office programs and have good computer skills. Merits It is a merit if you have experience with acute and on-call physician vehicles or helicopter/air ambulance or emergency dispatch center work. We would appreciate if you have experience working with CoordCom or HEMSWX.
