Primary Care Area West (PV West) is a base unit with 4 health centers in both urban and rural settings, distributed across 4 municipalities: Vindeln, Vännäs, Bjurholm & Umeå. The health centers work closely together within the base unit. Good connections with local and regional transport enable commuting to, from, and between our units. We are seeking a specialist physician in general medicine for the position of Medical Director at Vännäs Health Center. The health center, beautifully located on the banks of the Umeå River approximately 3 miles from Umeå city, is a brand new and modern facility. The health center employs approximately 40 staff members. In Vännäs, we work in different teams, conduct active workplace environment initiatives, and have good collaboration with the municipality's various care services. Vännäs Family Center, which is also part of the operation, is centrally located in Vännäs. It provides services including child health care, maternal health care, open preschool, and social services. The family center has approximately 8 employees working in effective collaboration between the region and municipality. As a manager in Region Västerbotten, you have an important assignment for both employees and residents in the region. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a medical director (MD) with us, you see the big picture and potential, and take us forward boldly. You act as a role model, work to create shared visions and unleash initiative in your operation. You challenge and develop, and encourage and highlight your employees. As MD, you combine clinical work (60%) with management (40%), where you are responsible for the operation within your authority and represent the employer by leading and developing toward decided goals for the Region's and patients' benefit. As MD, you are also the health center's medical responsible physician. In your role, you are the immediate responsible manager for the physician group at Vännäs Health Center. The management assignment includes responsibility for operations, personnel, and finances. You are responsible for day-to-day management and for organizing the unit's assignments and collaborating with relevant parties. Examples of personnel-related work included are employee conversations, competence development, and salary setting. You also have workplace environment and rehabilitation responsibility for your employees and work actively with systematic workplace environment efforts in your own work group as well as in collaboration with other managers at the health center. In your clinical role, you participate together with specialist physicians in training and mentoring of students and future specialists. You are further responsible for efficient utilization of primary care resources and are active in patient safety matters. You are part of the base unit's management group where you work together for a health-promoting and attractive workplace. As MD and responsible manager for the physician group, you are expected to support the department manager at Vännäs HC in medical matters, and together you investigate patient ombudsman cases, deviations, and IVO matters. Together with the management group for PV West, you lead and plan quality and improvement efforts. QUALIFICATIONS You are a specialist physician in general medicine or are in the final stage of your specialist training in general medicine. If you have previous experience in leading and driving change within an operation, that is meritorious. You must have a good command of Swedish in both speech and writing, and preferably also a good command of English. You need to have a category B driver's license as in your clinical role you will work as on-call physician and conduct home visits. As a person, you are comfortable with change and see opportunities in challenges. You willingly bring new ideas, take initiative, and create visions and objectives. You plan and organize your work with good foresight and have a strategic and structured approach to work. You communicate consciously and meet others with trust and understanding. You contribute to a positive cooperation climate and promote open dialogue. As a manager, you support your employees in working toward common goals and are attentive to their well-being. Employment form: Permanent employment. Duration: Permanent, Start date: Start date according to agreement. The position as manager within Region Västerbotten is a time-limited appointment usually for 4 years, combined with permanent employment within your field of expertise.
