Medborgarskolan Seeks Mentor for ESF Project FIND 2.0 in Ulricehamn

Medborgarskolan operates throughout Sweden, and our courses and cultural activities engage nearly one million participants each year. Our activities are open to everyone, and we promote knowledge-seeking, creative expression, and civic engagement, with pleasant learning environments and high standards for quality and competence. Medborgarskolan Region Väst, with regional headquarters in Gothenburg, covers the Västra Götaland and Halland regions and operates over 45 activity centers. We are a non-profit organization providing civic education, school activities, corporate training, and labor market initiatives. The region has an annual turnover of approximately 185 million SEK and employs around 200 staff members. Within the Operations Department, we provide rehabilitation and matching services for public actors in 14 locations and manage externally-funded projects in the labor market sector. Job Description FIND 2.0 is a collaboration project co-financed by the European Social Fund. The project aims to strengthen employment opportunities for people far from the labor market in Western Sweden and develop new, targeted approaches through support, educational activities, and workplace contacts. The target group includes women and men of working age receiving economic assistance who may have limited language skills, low education levels, limited work experience, or health-related barriers. FIND 2.0 works gradually and individually based on participants' circumstances, needs, and goals. The work includes assessment, individual goal-setting and planning, and competency development in areas such as Swedish language, digital skills, workplace knowledge, and personal development. Simultaneously, labor market connections are established through employer contacts, study visits, and preparation for internships, employment, or education. Work is conducted both individually and in groups, focusing on motivation, trust, future perspectives, and participants' ability to take active steps toward employment or studies. As the responsible mentor, your primary task is to ensure we deliver quality services to our clients. You will be operatively responsible for the activity and have the opportunity to influence participants' development and path toward the labor market. You will, among other things: maintain ongoing contact with municipal case managers manage participant follow-up, documentation, and reporting conduct study visits, assessments, and follow-ups mentor, support, and coach participants based on individual needs and goals together with participants identify appropriate tasks and development initiatives plan and conduct group activities, seminars, and lectures share knowledge in areas such as workplace skills, civic orientation, and digital competence contribute to structured, motivating, and development-focused activities. You will work closely with participants, municipal case managers, colleagues, and other partner organizations. We seek someone with: post-secondary education in areas such as behavioral sciences, education, social work, human resources, labor and employment, or other relevant fields experience working with people outside or far from the labor market experience in mentoring, coaching, or counseling experience planning and conducting group activities, seminars, lectures, or training strong communication skills, both verbal and written strong administrative skills and experience with documentation, follow-up, and reporting good digital skills and experience with various digital systems ability to work independently, structurally, and solution-oriented ability to build trusting relationships and motivate people toward development strong collaboration skills with municipalities, government agencies, employers, and other actors valid driver's license (category B). Meritorious qualifications: It is an advantage if you have: experience with labor market initiatives, job matching, rehabilitation, or integration experience with project-financed activities, such as ESF projects experience collaborating with municipalities, the Swedish Public Employment Service, or other government agencies experience working with people from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds knowledge of labor market conditions and pathways to employment and education experience with employer contacts, study visits, or internships experience lecturing or training in areas such as workplace skills, civic orientation, or digital competence. Application This is a fixed-term position at 50% working hours until June 30, 2029. Working hours are daytime, Monday–Friday, based in Ulricehamn.
