Do you want to inspire children and young people to discover mathematics through movement, play, and sports? Vara Municipality is seeking a math coach for Akelius Math Factory. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and leading our Sports Math concept, where students explore mathematics through practical activities connected to sports, movement, and problem-solving. This is a unique opportunity to combine pedagogy, leadership, and creativity in a program designed to make mathematics understandable, enjoyable, and accessible to all students. Your Role As a math coach, you will: Plan and conduct Sports Math activities. Lead student groups in practical and movement-based math activities. Create a safe, inspiring, and inclusive learning environment. Collaborate with math teachers and other staff within the Akelius project. Develop new ideas and working methods that strengthen students' interest in mathematics. Contribute to making Akelius Math Factory a meeting place for future math education. Your work will take place under the guidance of experienced math teachers connected to the Akelius project. Your Knowledge and Experience We see that you: Have a strong interest in working with children and young people. Thrive in a leadership role and have a talent for creating engagement. Enjoy sports, movement, or other activities where mathematics can be naturally integrated. Are creative, enterprising, and solution-oriented. Have good collaboration skills and a positive attitude. It is an advantage if you have experience in educational work, volunteer organizations, sports leadership, or studies in pedagogy, mathematics, or related fields.
