The Department for Children and Education works on behalf of the Preschool Board and Primary School Board. The department is responsible for preschool operations, school childcare, primary school, and adapted primary school. Huddinge Municipality is committed to creating a sustainable and high-quality meal service organization for the future. Since fall 2025, there has been a consolidated meal service operation within preschools and primary schools. Now we are looking for a Food Services Director with a strategic perspective and drive for development. About the Position As Food Services Director in Huddinge Municipality, you are responsible for leading, coordinating, and developing the meal service organization across six geographical areas. You will build on the foundation laid by the project group, with a focus on quality, equity, and professionalism. The position entails overall responsibility for ensuring that our children and students are served nutritious, sustainable, and delicious meals every day. Your main areas of responsibility include: Lead and develop meal service operations in line with the municipality's goals for sustainability and quality. Overall responsibility for finance, personnel, work environment, and quality assurance within the meal service organization. Drive change and improvement work with a focus on sustainability, reduced food waste, and increased use of organic raw materials. Coordinate work between meal service operations and other municipal services to achieve common goals and visions. Lead and support six area managers and other meal service staff in their daily work and development. Qualifications We are looking for you who have: Higher education in nutrition science, nutritional studies, or equivalent, or documented experience deemed equivalent. Substantial leadership experience where you have demonstrated the ability to develop and inspire other leaders. Experience working strategically within meal service operations, preferably with a focus on quality and cost-effectiveness improvements. Experience leading development and change initiatives and knowledge of meal service management in the public sector. Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to create engagement and a positive work environment. We are looking for you with trust-based and transformational leadership, strong strategic ability, and the will to develop a meal service organization that puts sustainability and quality at the center. You are confident, structured, and have a genuine interest in food and meal experiences. You should also have knowledge of the Work Environment Act and how the systematic work environment process functions, and be able to cooperate with union representatives.
