Meal Preparation Assistant – Hourly Position in Elderly Care

About Us Spread the joy of good food in elderly care! We're looking for more people to join our staffing pool and need someone who wants to work extra shifts as a meal preparation assistant. We prepare home-style cooking, bake, and create desserts from scratch using high-quality ingredients and real raw materials. Your tasks as a meal preparation assistant may include simple food preparation of side dishes, salad preparation, receiving inventory, and packing. In our kitchens, we cook from scratch, maintain seasonal menus, and actively work to reduce food waste. Your responsibilities also include dishwashing, cleaning, and quality control. Since operations run every day of the year, you'll work various scheduled shifts within the hours 06:00–17:30 and some weekends. Together, we work to ensure that seniors feel secure, trusted, and can live the best life possible, with independence every day, throughout their lives. We have workplaces throughout Gothenburg, so you have every opportunity to work where it suits you. It should be enjoyable to come to work, and we're looking for someone who can bring joy and has the will to learn! You cannot have more than one active employment with the City of Gothenburg at a time. Please note that work as an hourly substitute with us requires that you do not have another employment exceeding 50%. You choose which days you want to be available for work by entering them into our booking system Time Care Pool. You'll then be scheduled for shifts based on the operations' needs. We also have some requirements You must be at least 18 years old by October 15, 2026, in accordance with the Swedish Work Environment Authority's regulations on the work environment for minors (AFS 2023:2, ch. 8) 5 years of experience as a meal preparation assistant, kitchen assistant, cold food handler, or something equivalent as assessed by the employer Good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing, as the work involves conveying information to colleagues Good digital competence as you need to handle various IT systems Desirable but not required Training as a meal preparation assistant, cold food handler, or equivalent as assessed by the employer Are you looking for flexible, relationship-building, and responsible work?
