ART THERAPIST.
Project Objective:
The project aims to provide children with behavioral and addiction problems, as well as their families, with individually tailored, comprehensive support based on collaboration among specialists from various fields. This enables families to receive necessary assistance in a timely, coordinated manner in one location.
Service provision period from November 2026 to August 2029.
Main Responsibilities:
Social Service:
Provides support and consultations in accordance with the developed Support Plan, implements art therapy processes using appropriate art forms (visual arts, dance and movement, drama, or music), and builds therapeutic relationships with the child using art as a therapeutic instrument. Helps the child overcome health, emotional, behavioral, and social difficulties, promoting overall well-being.
After completing a consultation cycle, prepares recommendations for the child and caregiver and submits them to the Social Service's social worker. Attends supervision sessions (1× per month), participates in team meetings (1× per month), and engages in professional development activities. Adheres to ethics, data protection, and confidentiality principles in work.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (first-cycle higher education) in Art Therapy (as per MK Regulations No. 617, Section 4.6).
- Registration in the State Register of Medical Professionals and the Register of Medical Support Persons in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Experience in the previous three years performing professional art therapist activities with children or families (minimum 24 months of combined work experience).
Project Implementation Location:
Daugavpils City Municipality Institution "Social Service" in cooperation with the foundation "Latvian Children's Support Fund" and the association "Resilience Center".
Compensation: 50 euro/consultation.
