Train Driver with Denmark Competency

Snälltåget is seeking a train driver with Denmark competency, positioned in Malmö Snälltåget has a need for additional train drivers. Our trains are operated with one of the most modern locomotives on the market; Vectron from Siemens – perhaps with you at the controls? As a train driver at Snälltåget, you are reliable, responsible, and communicative, with a genuine commitment to our customers. You work in teams with typically two to four colleagues on board. Our train drivers and onboard staff are stationed in Malmö, Stockholm, and Östersund. Overall responsibilities The train driver is responsible for operating the train in a manner that is safe, punctual, and comfortable for passengers. The train driver is responsible for reporting to the Traffic Control Center and Service Center/Operations management any events that could affect passenger safety and the traffic situation overall. Other areas of responsibility Preparation and parking of locomotives and sometimes also passenger cars Supervision during shunting and performing shunting operations, for example inspection of the locomotive, coupling and uncoupling cars, and performing brake tests. Functional and quality checks before the train's departure and during the journey Troubleshooting and simple repairs of traction equipment. Communication with Operations management, Traffic Control Center, and onboard staff. Providing passengers with important information when necessary, either directly or through onboard staff. Personal qualities and skills Good safety awareness and the ability to remain attentive during longer journeys, including at night. Handles unexpected and sudden situations calmly and methodically. Very good ability to recognize passenger needs. Stress-resistant and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to meet schedules and take own initiative in making decisions. Self-driven/proactive, willing to work broadly and also with other tasks within Snälltåget. Good communication skills. Your background Completed train driver training and thus possess a Driver's License. Good knowledge of Swedish and English. Documented experience as a train driver is required. Experience operating passenger trains is a merit, particularly modern Siemens locomotives. Documented training for Denmark, at minimum SR, ORF. Health requirements Meet health requirements according to current regulations (TSFS 2011:61). Nice to have Basic Danish language skills; additional language skills such as German are merits. Other information The position is full-time and permanent, with an initial probationary period of 6 months. Working hours are variable and may involve work at inconvenient times.
