Together, the unit provides expert support and delivers services to the entire university. Local services are provided based on campus areas that correspond to the geographic areas where Gothenburg University's operations are conducted. The campus service brings together expertise in facilities maintenance, custodial services, technical service, janitorial care, and mail handling. Duties Cleaning of instructional facilities such as lecture halls, classrooms, libraries, group rooms, and laboratories. Cleaning will also take place in common areas, lunch rooms, restrooms, and other facility spaces where students, staff, and visitors are present. Administrative tasks are also part of the position, such as email management and registration in self-reporting systems. Qualifications The position requires good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and at least 1 year of work experience in facilities maintenance, specifically in regular janitorial care. You must have experience with mechanical cleaning equipment such as combination scrubbers, floor scrubbers, and polishers. You must not have any type of allergy that affects the performance of the work. You have good experience working with IT systems such as Teams, Outlook, and good ability to work with iPads and learn new IT systems to perform your duties. It is a merit if you have facilities maintenance experience from an educational institution, particularly cleaning of laboratory facilities. It is also advantageous if you have any form of training in facilities maintenance and if you speak and write English. We are looking for someone who can work independently but also has good collaboration skills and can work with others when needed. You place great emphasis on delivering high service and quality in your work. You have no problem communicating with our operations, customers, and students, as you meet them daily in your work. Being part of the work team and contributing to creating good cooperation with the rest of the work group is something we value highly. Employment The employment is a temporary position until June 30, 2027, at seventy-five percent (75%) with placement in the Facilities Maintenance Section, Service Unit. Employment begins September 1, 2026, or by agreement. Working hours are weekdays 6:00 AM–12:40 PM. Weekend work may also occur.
