We're looking for you to help shape tomorrow's Ale. With us, you'll be part of delivering services and benefits of the highest quality to Ale residents. Together, 2,500 employees create an Ale—a municipality focused on residents and their needs. Become one of us!
About the Workplace
You are warmly welcome to an engaged and inclusive work environment at Ale Municipality, where we value collaboration, development, and an open climate. The position is placed at the Local Supply Unit within the Property and Service Administration department.
With us, you'll be part of a small, tight-knit unit of nine employees. We have good camaraderie and a daily routine characterized by high pace, variety, and complex property matters requiring both analysis and collaboration. The unit works strategically and across the municipality with close cooperation with all departments, creating a dynamic work environment with many contact points and the opportunity to influence the municipality's long-term development.
The unit's assignment includes, among other things:
Strategically plan and develop proposals for measures to ensure the municipality's long-term property needs. Annually update and develop the municipality's local supply plan. Oversee implementation of new construction, renovations, and expansions—from feasibility study to completed and handed-over project. Manage administrative property management linked to internal rental agreements according to the municipality's decided internal rental model.
Our work is characterized by a clear approach where we first strive to optimize and develop existing facilities rather than create new ones. We work based on principles such as sustainability, long-term thinking, and efficient resource use. At the same time, our culture is marked by an open and curious approach to change—we are cautiously positive about changes, analytical, and objective in our assessments, which helps us make well-founded decisions in complex matters.
Work Tasks
As a Local Strategy Officer, you have a central role in long-term planning and development of Ale Municipality's local supply together with the Local Supply Manager. The assignment involves overall responsibility for local planning across all operational areas. You work proactively to ensure that the municipality's facilities are used efficiently, sustainably, and appropriately. The role involves many contact points and close collaboration with both internal and external actors, where you contribute a strategic perspective in early stages as well as in ongoing development initiatives.
In addition to leading the work of developing and updating the municipality's local supply plan, the following work tasks include:
Monitor detailed development plans and analyze and respond to referrals.
Support project managers in early stages of construction and development projects.
Conduct active environmental monitoring.
Serve as the department's internal local planner.
Lead local development projects.
Qualifications
We're looking for you with post-secondary education, such as academic education in an area the employer finds relevant. You have experience working in local supply, property management, urban planning, or other related activities. If you have held the role of Local Strategy Officer and/or worked in a politically governed organization, we see that as a merit. A driver's license (Category B) is required.
To succeed in the role, you are self-driven and structured, with the ability to advance your work with good results. You are flexible and confident and can handle changed circumstances while maintaining a strategic and long-term perspective. You build relationships and collaborations easily and enjoy a role with many contact points. With your holistic view and analytical ability, you translate operational needs into concrete and sustainable solutions.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
