The Intellectual Disability and Autism Unit Welcome to the Intellectual Disability and Autism Unit in Uppsala! We are looking for you—a licensed speech-language pathologist who with dedication and drive wants to be part of our wonderful team and help develop our work creating opportunities for people with disabilities to live a good life. We offer a permanent full-time position (100%) starting by agreement. We work with preschool-age children in Uppsala, Knivsta, and Heby. The team consists of psychologists, 8 speech-language pathologists, special educators, social workers, a physiotherapist, and an occupational therapist. Your Assignment You will work with assessments and treatment of communication, language, and speech abilities, as well as evaluation and treatment of eating and swallowing abilities in preschool-age children. Your role will also include evaluating and implementing alternative and/or augmentative communication (AAC). A significant part of your work will be providing guidance in comprehensive intensive behavioral intervention (CIBI). The work is independent and varied, offering excellent opportunities for professional and personal development. You will receive a comprehensive introduction program, access to a mentor, peer supervision, CIBI supervisor meetings, and professional meetings with speech-language pathologist colleagues in the unit. Your Qualifications You must be a licensed speech-language pathologist. Experience working with children with disabilities is an asset. The position requires strong collaboration skills and comfort working in a team with other professionals, as well as the ability to work independently. It is advantageous if you hold a class B driver's license, as the work may involve travel within the region. As a person, you are perceptive, have strong pedagogical skills, and can easily build rapport with both patients, families, and colleagues. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability.
