We are now seeking a literature developer for the Section for Cultural Development within Regional Development in Region Jönköping County. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work strategically with literature issues, develop collaborations within the literary field, and coordinate the region's important cities of refuge work. The role of literature developer Literature plays an important role in society. It strengthens people's ability to think critically, creates understanding for different experiences and perspectives, and contributes to language, imagination, and democratic participation. In a time characterized by rapid digital development, changed media habits, and a constant information flow, the importance of literature and storytelling is greater than ever. As a literature developer, you work strategically and development-oriented to strengthen literature as an art form in Jönköping County. Based on the regional cultural plan, you drive and develop the work together with municipalities, libraries, civil society, authors, publishers, and other actors in the literary field and cultural life. You also serve as Region Jönköping County's cities of refuge coordinator and coordinate the region's cities of refuge work in cooperation with International Cities of Refuge Network (ICORN). The assignment involves contributing to creating conditions for literary creation and development and participating in regional, national, and international networks within literature and reading promotion. The position includes, among other things: • monitoring, making accessible, and strengthening literature and literary creation in the county • promoting literary activities for children and young people, with a special focus on young people between 13 and 19 years old • developing literary meeting places and arenas where residents can meet professionally active authors • strengthening networks and cooperation between authors, libraries, organizers, bookstores, and publishers • contributing to strengthening professional authors' opportunities and conditions in the county • implementing and further developing literary events, workshops, and initiatives for young people's writing • working with environmental monitoring within, for example, financing forms, publishing forms, and literature policy • coordinating cities of refuge work and participating in projects within democracy, freedom of expression, and international cooperation • developing regional, national, and international networks within the literature field The position is a permanent full-time employment (100 percent) with start date according to agreement. Your future workplace The Section for Cultural Development is part of Regional Development within Region Jönköping County and serves as a collective knowledge resource for the county's cultural life. The operation's mission is to be promoting, knowledge-bearing, and educational. Consultation and cooperation with the county's municipalities, civil society, study associations, independent cultural practitioners, and cultural institutions are a central part of the work. The section also participates in regional, national, and international collaborations to develop culture's opportunities and conditions. The goal is to contribute to a rich and vibrant cultural life in the county and stimulate development within areas such as literature, library development, visual arts and design, performance, dance, film, traditional crafts, and freedom of expression. Children and young people are a prioritized perspective in the operation. Your profile We are looking for you who have relevant university education and experience within the field. You have a strong interest in literature and documented knowledge of the literary field and its conditions. We are looking for you who are strategic, analytical, and communicative, with experience in leading processes and projects. You find it easy to collaborate, build long-term relationships, and create networks. You are self-directed, initiative-taking, and goal-oriented, and you see environmental monitoring as a natural part of your work. You have a good understanding of culture's importance in a democratic society and good English language skills, both spoken and written. A Class B driver's license is a requirement as the position involves travel, primarily within Jönköping County.
