Description:
The Social Care Administration of the City of Borås is responsible for the municipality's disability services, social psychiatry, and health and medical care services for the target groups mentioned. With approximately 1000 employees and 45 managers, we continuously work to improve the quality of our services for those we serve. About the Operations At the Social Care Administration, you will find stimulating work with an exciting patient group. In the unit for municipal health and medical care in the City of Borås, two teams work with individuals with disabilities and one team works with social psychiatry. Your work tasks will be directed toward patients living in group homes, service apartments, and patients in ordinary housing with personal assistance. Work Tasks At the unit, six physical therapists work with individuals with disabilities. We have the time and resources to work thoroughly and with detailed focus on our patients, and we can develop and improve our work with our specific target group in focus. The Social Care Administration is a smaller organization. Short decision-making processes provide great opportunities for development of both the unit and our work in the direction we desire. Examples of projects we have initiated include training groups in gym and aquatic environments, training videos, instruction in transfer techniques out in the operations, and initiatives to promote increased physical activity among a sedentary target group. Some of the diagnoses we work with are Down syndrome, Cerebral palsy, various forms of intellectual disability, and neuropsychiatric diagnoses. We also work with acquired brain injuries and degenerative neurological diagnoses such as MS, ALS, and Huntington's disease. We work with physical therapy interventions regarding musculoskeletal problems that may arise from the patient's underlying condition, but we also assess, investigate, and treat other conditions our patients experience. Our patient group requires a creative mindset where you will be able to challenge your conventional physical therapy knowledge and methods. Therefore, it is important that you as a candidate dare to think outside the box and dare to be both playful and resourceful in your solutions. Qualifications Collaboration between different professions and with various agencies in the region is extensive, which requires that you have good collaborative skills. You should enjoy working independently and taking responsibility for your time and your work, but at the same time appreciate being part of a team that works toward the same goal. You should have good organizational and collaborative skills as well as a high degree of flexibility. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. We work Monday-Friday daytime with good opportunities for a flexible work schedule, where you take responsibility for how you organize your work in consultation with your colleagues.
