The Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinic is a regional clinic with reception units in Umeå, Lycksele, and Skellefteå. The clinic also includes a BUP inpatient ward located in Umeå. BUP Västerbotten is a USVE unit with close collaboration with the university and research. Within the clinic, we work in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate closely with patients' families and other networks. In our assessment team, we meet children and young people with suspected neuropsychiatric conditions, as well as other difficulties such as psychotic symptoms, personality issues, or concurrent somatic conditions. The team continuously engages in development work to ensure that each child receives the right intervention and ongoing support as part of the implementation of standardized care processes. During spring and fall, we strengthened our assessment team with five positions for a targeted mission to address children and young people who have waited the longest for an initial appointment. The assignment includes meeting children who need further evaluation and assessment as part of standardized care processes. Due to a parental leave, we are now seeking a temporary replacement. Start date is as soon as possible, and the employment extends through May 31, 2027 at the latest. Possible extension is available. JOB DUTIES As a psychologist with us, you contribute to taking good care of others and helping people feel better. The psychologist role at BUP involves independently and as part of a team working with assessment and treatment of children and young people who require specialized child psychiatric care. In your work, you meet children and young people with serious psychiatric conditions. For this position, the work primarily involves assessment and evaluation. As a psychologist, you work with evidence-based methods based on current guidelines. You independently plan, conduct, and evaluate your interventions. You also participate in teamwork and collaboration with colleagues as needed. Work with us also involves consulting and collaborating with schools, preschools, social services, and other clinics within healthcare. Work that enables and creates conditions for viewing the patient from a holistic perspective. As a regional clinic, travel to the other units may occur. QUALIFICATIONS We welcome candidates with experience working with children and young people, familiarity with assessment and evaluation, training in ADOS and/or ADI-R, and other assessment instruments relevant to the assignment. You have an interest in working in a structured and evidence-based manner. You are a secure and organized person with a professional approach.
