About the Unit The 161st Air Defense and Air Control Battalion's main task is to be responsible for monitoring Swedish airspace and air operations control; the battalion is daily engaged in operational activities. Other tasks include the operation and protection of fortified command centers and the deployment of mobile sensors and radio systems throughout Sweden. The Battalion Staff primarily works with coordination and preparation of matters at all conflict levels, from peace to war. The staff consists of four sections, one of which is the SIS section that works with communications and command support systems. The section's task is to work with, among other things, planning of the battalion's operations such as communications and command support systems in our facilities and installations. Primary Work Tasks The Command Systems Officer position encompasses broad and varied work within the field. You will work with developing, implementing, and managing various open and classified systems. You will also maintain the Air Defense Battalion's command support systems and telecommunications infrastructure at the battalion's various operational locations throughout the country. You will handle administrative tasks within IT and information security as well as accreditation work. You will work closely with our users and internal suppliers and you are an important piece of the growing section's work. REQUIREMENTS Qualifications Officer's degree Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English Class B driver's license Personal Qualities You readily take initiative and responsibility in any given situation. You are social and outgoing with good communication skills and feel comfortable working independently within your work area. You can quickly reprioritize and act in the best interest of the Air Defense Battalion when the position requires it. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability.
