Group Leader for Youth/Adults Ages 16-25 with Mental Health Issues/Disabilities

We are a nonprofit organization for people with personal experience of mental health issues/disabilities In this group, young adults ages 16-25 with mental health issues/disabilities and psychiatric diagnoses meet together. From our program: "We meet and have coffee & socialize, sometimes cook dinner together, organize activities and try to find calm and space for safe conversations and supportive companionship. Activities are decided together" The idea is to offer the opportunity to meet others and talk about thoughts and feelings, and share experiences and stories that people can relate to. But also to build social connections and exist in a social context that is supportive and validating. The group meets one evening per week around 5-8 PM at our organization's premises in Gubbängen, September-December You need to have experience working in a setting where you meet young people with mental health issues Important qualities are that you are calm, unpretentious, and good at building connections. You need to be able to alternate between being passive and staying in the background letting participants be heard and seen, and stepping forward and being more active Important roles as a leader, beyond creating connections and conversations, are also to provide affirmation when needed, so that the person sharing feels their story is received. You should have at least training as a social pedagogue, but other training with a human care focus can work too, such as nurse, occupational therapist, social worker, behavioral scientist, teacher, youth leader, etc. Hourly rate.
