Gothenburg City Leasing AB (GSL) is seeking a Leasing Strategist with a focus on business development for our Operational Leasing business area. We are looking for someone with in-depth expertise and expert knowledge in leasing who wants to apply their experience to strategic development and business growth. With us, you will have a key role in developing leasing solutions for the City of Gothenburg, where you work at the intersection of finance, analysis, business development, and sustainability. You will contribute to developing strategies, working methods, and decision-making materials that create long-term value for the city's operations. The position is placed within the Fleet Management unit. As a Leasing Strategist, you are responsible for analyzing and developing our leasing operations from a strategic, financial, and business perspective aligned with the City of Gothenburg's specific needs. The role should combine deep expertise in leasing with a clear business development mandate to develop cost-effective, sustainable, and competitive leasing solutions, while also developing internal processes, business models, and working methods over time. You will work with monitoring, analysis, and financial decision-making materials while driving development initiatives and improvement efforts. The role involves close collaboration with internal functions and external suppliers. You will serve as a specialist and advisor in leasing and financing of vehicles, micromobility, machinery, and related matters that contribute to the organization's development in line with changing needs and market conditions. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will, among other things: Be the organization's specialist in operational leasing and provide qualified support on matters concerning leasing arrangements, contract terms, residual values, calculations, risk assessments, and lifecycle costs. Be responsible for designing, analyzing, and quality-assuring leasing arrangements for vehicles, bicycles, and work machinery, and ensure that leasing offers comply with applicable regulations. Be responsible for analyzing market trends, customer needs, and changing requirements within sustainable mobility and usage. Be responsible for monitoring and developing leasing solutions and ensuring agreements that are commercially sound, cost-effective, and tailored to the City of Gothenburg's needs. Develop and implement strategies for leasing solutions for vehicles, work machinery, and micromobility. Prepare financial analyses, calculations, forecasts, and budget materials to support the organization's management and decision-making. Monitor the leasing portfolio and analyze financial outcomes, risks, and business opportunities. Conduct investigations and prepare decision-making materials within leasing, financing, and the vehicle sector. Identify and drive development projects that strengthen operational efficiency and quality in the area. Contribute to the development of circular business models and sustainable financing solutions. Develop routines, processes, and key performance indicators for monitoring and management. Follow developments in the leasing, vehicle, and financial markets and implement new opportunities in the organization. Educate and disseminate knowledge in leasing and sustainable financing solutions. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a strategic approach, strong business acumen, and good analytical skills. You thrive with data-driven work and are motivated by translating analyses into concrete improvements. You find it easy to build trusting relationships and communicate complex matters in a clear and educational manner. We are looking for someone with: Academic degree in economics, finance, business administration, or another relevant field. Several years of experience in leasing, financing, or controlling. Experience with financial monitoring, budgeting, calculations, and forecasts. Experience with analysis and investigation work as well as preparing decision-making materials. Good knowledge of contract matters and commercial assessments. Good understanding of at least one of the areas: vehicles, machinery, micromobility, and their economic conditions. Experience with operational development, process development, or project management. Very strong ability to analyze data and translate results into operational benefits. Very good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. It is advantageous if you have experience from public sector or municipal operations, as well as knowledge of operational leasing, sustainability work, circular economy, and work with vehicles, work machinery, or micromobility. The employment is a permanent full-time position with a six-month probationary period. Start date to be agreed upon. During 2027, we will move to new premises on Exportgatan.
