We are now seeking an engaged upper secondary teacher in mathematics and science who wants to create favorable conditions for students with extensive support needs to develop and succeed in their education. About Us Magelungen Gymnasium Danvikstull is a small resource upper secondary school for students who have extensive support needs in their education. We offer the Child and Leisure Program as well as the Introduction Program, with individual alternatives and vocational introductions. We also offer an individual alternative with e-sports on the schedule. Our students often have social, psychosocial, or neuropsychiatric difficulties. Many also have a lengthy period of school absence behind them. To create conditions for a functioning school experience, we work with small student groups, high staff density, strengthened psychosocial support, and individually designed arrangements based on each student's conditions and needs. Our activities are based on a systematic and salutogenic perspective. We look at the student's whole situation and build on what works. The school is characterized by well-developed student health work where all staff work closely with the student health team. We work together and place great emphasis on shared development work. Our goal is to offer a safe and meaningful context where each student has the opportunity to succeed based on their own conditions. With us, the student is always at the center. We want to create hope and make a real difference for children, young people, and families by seeing each individual's needs, possibilities, and potential. About the Position As a teacher of mathematics and science, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on instruction based on students' individual conditions and needs. The position includes mentoring, which is an important part of the work. You work closely with colleagues, the student health team, and school management to create structure, motivation, and progression in students' learning. The assignment also includes contributing to the school's shared development work and to a safe and inclusive learning environment. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is a certified upper secondary teacher and qualified to teach mathematics and science. You have teaching experience and a strong interest in working with students who need extensive support measures. Experience from a resource school, resource unit, or work with a similar target group is also meritorious. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. To succeed in the role, you need to be a skilled and engaged educator with a strong ability to create trusting relationships. You work independently and in a structured manner, adapt instruction to students' needs, and maintain calm, focus, and judgment even in demanding situations. You have good self-awareness and an open, curious, and exploratory approach. You communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, take responsibility for your assignment, and handle your mandate in a secure manner. You are responsive, collaboration-oriented, and actively contribute to finding constructive ways forward.
