ABOUT THE JOB We are now seeking a teacher for the introduction program at the Education Center with qualifications in religion, history, and/or social studies. We are Southern Lapland's leading education center with a broad range of upper secondary education, ski gymnasium (NIU and RIG), adult education, and adapted school for young people and adults. It may also be relevant to teach other subjects and/or work as an extra resource during students' other lessons on the introduction program. YOUR PROFILE We believe in the right competence in the right place. We are seeking you as a qualified teacher with teacher certification in religion, history, and/or social studies. It is an advantage if you have experience teaching these subjects at both secondary and upper secondary levels. Many of the students in the introduction program face various challenges and needs, both in and outside school. Therefore, we are seeking you who have a genuine interest in supporting young people's development and making a difference in their education. Experience working with young people with neurodevelopmental diagnoses is an advantage. You have a calm and secure approach in your interactions with students. You have a good ability to create and maintain relationships, even in situations that can be challenging. We particularly value perseverance, patience, and the ability to work long-term toward set goals. It is important that you have good social competence and professional conduct toward both students and guardians as well as colleagues. We work on the principle that the student is always in focus, and as a teacher you work closely with the school's various professionals. You have good collaboration skills and a willingness and interest in working in teaching teams and subject teams. You are also interested in working with collaborative learning and strengthening team spirit within your work group and the organization.
