ABOUT THE JOB We are seeking a substitute teacher for the Vehicle and Transport Program with professional experience as a driver/machine operator. We are Southern Lapland's leading education center with a broad range of upper secondary education, ski gymnasium (NIU), adult education, and special school for youth and adults. Our vision is to create drive for lifelong learning together – a learning that is the key to life! The work involves planning and implementing instruction within the Transport program together with the team at the specialization. You will also have other tasks that are part of the teaching profession. At our Education Center, we work with the principle that the student is always in focus, and as a teacher you will work closely with student welfare services. We are looking for someone who is a certified vocational teacher in vehicles and transport or has other education/experience deemed equivalent. Documented professional experience as a driver/machine operator is required. We consider it a merit if you have a forklift training certificate and/or professional certification for crane and wheel loader operation. We believe it is an advantage, but not a requirement, if you have experience in educational work. Driver's licenses B and CE are required. We are looking for a person who puts the student in focus and who has great enthusiasm for the profession. It is important that you have good social skills and good conduct toward both students, guardians, and colleagues. You should have good collaboration skills and a willingness and interest in working in teams and subject groups. It is also positive if you are interested in working with collaborative learning and striving to strengthen the sense of community within the work group and organization.
