We're now recruiting a teacher for the treatment school Gröna Huset in Haninge Municipality. Gröna Huset is part of Individual and Family Services' outpatient care and is a milieu therapy-based treatment program with education that aims for positive change for young people and their networks. Here, every young person and their family have opportunities to work together with others to change their situation and develop according to their own conditions.
Target Group
Young people aged 15–17 who wish to change their situation with the help of active adult support and daily structure
Young people whose behavior and/or home environment makes them active clients of social services
Young people who wish to achieve individually set educational goals through adapted schooling
Gröna Huset has capacity for 10 young people. A placement typically begins at the start of the school year and extends over one academic year. The staff consists of a unit manager, two social workers, and two teachers working in a team. We're now seeking a colleague who is skilled and confident in meeting young people and parents, is organized and able to prioritize their work, has strong self-awareness and the ability to collaborate, and brings great commitment to the teacher role. This position is a permanent employment.
Your Assignment
As a teacher at Gröna Huset, you'll teach in upper secondary school years. The common focus of the school's work is serving children and young people with problematic school absenteeism and behavioral difficulties. The position includes standard teaching tasks such as planning, conducting lessons, follow-up work, educational visits, documentation, and monitoring students' academic development. The work demands significant ability to adapt your teaching to different students' needs. You work closely with students and support those needing accommodations and special support. Work occurs individually and in close collaboration with the team.
What We're Looking For
We seek someone with strong pedagogical grounding and genuine interest in the target group. You have strong self-awareness and ability to collaborate, and can prioritize your work.
You are a certified teacher with qualifications to teach Swedish and English, possibly other subjects, in grades 7–9. Broad subject competence is meriting.
You have special education expertise through advanced education as a special educator/special teacher or through documented special education experience/training in other ways.
You have good knowledge of digital tools and compensatory learning aids. You also have experience with digital documentation systems and learning platforms.
You have previous work experience with the target group and we'd like to see experience with family work and motivation work with young people. Experience working to prevent problematic school absenteeism is meriting.
A driver's license is required.
Great weight will be placed on personal qualities.
