About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more staff members. Job Description Children and young people in prison must be offered education equivalent to primary school, upper secondary school, adapted primary school, and adapted upper secondary school. As a teacher at the Learning Center, you will be an important part of this mission. You will contribute to creating a safe, structured, and meaningful school experience for students in a vulnerable situation, and you will work together with colleagues in a nationally coordinated educational activity with a focus on equality and continuity. You will be placed at Kumla Prison. All work takes place at the facility. Qualifications In your role as a teacher, you are a skilled educator with the will and ability to motivate, inspire, and guide students to reach their goals. You are clear and committed in your work and have a strong ability to create structure and systematic approaches. The work is conducted both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues, which is why good cooperation and initiative skills are important qualities, as well as the ability to work independently. We are seeking someone who has: - Upper secondary teacher certification and teaching license with subject expertise in English, preferably in combination with another core subject - Good computer skills and experience working with digital support systems - Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish It is also advantageous to have: - Experience teaching in the IM-program - Experience teaching at lower or upper secondary level - Experience with distance education At a possible interview, you must be able to present your teaching license with your list of subject qualifications.
