Vammarskolan is Valdemarsvik municipality's only primary school for grades 4–9 and has approximately 300 students. The school is centrally located in Valdemarsvik, with a bus stop for connections to Söderköping and Norrköping just outside the school, while we are also close to nature. We are now seeking a teacher of woodwork and metalwork who wants to be part of our team. DUTIES As a teacher of woodwork and metalwork, you are responsible for planning, implementing, following up, and developing instruction based on the curriculum and other governing documents. The assignment also includes assessment and grading. You teach students in grades 4-9 at Vammarskolan as well as groups from grade 3 at Sörbyskolan, who come to Vammarskolan for their woodwork and metalwork instruction. In craft instruction, you create conditions for students to develop creativity, problem-solving skills, craftsmanship, and confidence in their own abilities. You actively work for a teaching environment characterized by safety, clear routines, and security in the craft room. The position also includes duties as a class mentor together with a colleague. As a mentor, you are an important adult in the students' school day and contribute to following their academic development, attendance, and school situation. You collaborate with colleagues, student support staff, and guardians to create good conditions for students to succeed in school. The position may also involve supporting students during regular instruction in other subjects as well as teaching or support for students in smaller groups. As a teacher at Vammarskolan, you are part of the school's collective work. We view collaboration between teachers, other staff, student support, and school management as an important prerequisite for succeeding in our mission. QUALIFICATIONS We are primarily seeking a certified teacher with authorization to teach woodwork and metalwork in primary school. You have clear pedagogical leadership and the ability to create structure, safety, and a good study environment. You meet students with different backgrounds, personalities, and needs and can adapt your instruction while maintaining high and clear expectations for student learning and responsibility. You see the relationship between teacher and student as an important foundation for learning. At the same time, you are confident in your adult role and clear about the boundaries and expectations needed to create a good teaching environment.
