Gamlestadsskolan is an F-9 school located in the heart of the historic Gamlestaden district, serving children and students primarily from the surrounding area and other parts of East Gothenburg. The Gamlestaden district is currently in a very expansive phase with several planned projects that will make it one of Gothenburg's most important hubs for communication, housing, and services in the future.
Gamlestadsskolan has approximately 550 students in grades F-9 and we have four after-school care centers where our youngest students can receive care. The school is organized so that there are smaller schools within the larger school, all to increase closeness to one another and to ensure that everyone feels seen. We actively work to create a sense of community where the school's teachers and students together feel responsible for the school's environment and well-being. Gamlestadsskolan's adapted primary school is a school for children and young people with intellectual disabilities. We have five classes and just over 30 students, an after-school care department, and an LSS program. The foundation of the school's approach is based on the two curricula for subjects and subject areas as well as the after-school care curriculum. In our pedagogical work with students, we have a holistic perspective based on needs, conditions, and interests. The teaching teams plan, implement, and develop varied instruction, practice, and support for students during school and after-school time with the aim that students develop into independent individuals based on their abilities. We are flexible and see opportunities before obstacles. The work requires clarity, flexibility, explicit pedagogy, and alternative and augmentative communication.

Job Responsibilities
We are now seeking a certified teacher at 40% with the qualifications to teach crafts with a focus on wood and metal in grades 3–9.
As a teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on instruction at both group and individual levels. You are responsible for adapting the regular classroom instruction in such a way that you meet each student where they are. You are part of a teaching team where you collaborate by both giving and receiving support to develop and improve instruction. You will work closely with the textile crafts teacher.
Our wood crafts room is well-equipped and relatively new from 2017. It is a bright, beautiful space. It is a bright, beautiful space with a shared machine room between the two crafts studios. In your room, there is a small machine room with a lathe, jigsaw, etc. There is also a small painting room adjacent to the studio.
Qualifications
Requirements
We are seeking someone who is a certified teacher with the qualifications to teach crafts with a focus on wood and metal in grades 3–9. If you have work experience as a teacher, that is a merit, but we also welcome newly graduated applicants to apply.
It is a merit if you have previous experience working with AGR and SU groups.
