Teacher of Wood and Metal Crafts at Ellen Key School and Backa School, Grades 3-5

Description We are now seeking an engaged teacher to teach wood and metal crafts for grades 3-5 at Backa School and Ellen Key School. Time will be divided evenly between the schools, with one day per week for travel between them. This is a full-time permanent position. Ellen Key School is an F-6 school with approximately 340 students. Our goal is for Ellen Key School to be a school with clear structures for democracy and critical norms, and for us to work together so that all students reach their goals. We want our students to feel welcome, expected, and valued every day they come to school, and to feel seen, heard, and understood when they leave Ellen Key School. As a teacher with us, you are an important part of this work. Backa School is a two-parallel F-6 school with approximately 350 students and 45 employees, centrally located on Hisingen with close and frequent bus connections. The school is situated in a lush and beautiful area with plenty of large outdoor spaces. The school, built in 1897, has been completely renovated while retaining its charm. Responsibilities You will work at Backa School and Ellen Key School at different times, with a clear division of duties between the schools. Through a clear distribution of your time, you can focus on each school's needs and conditions. You will be part of a work team at Ellen Key School and will also participate in workplace meetings (APT) there. Together with your colleagues, you will drive pedagogical development for students throughout the school day. You will plan, implement, follow up on, and evaluate activities according to applicable regulations and the school's goals. You are innovative and forward-thinking and keep yourself well-informed within your field. In your role as mentor, you collaborate with guardians, student health services, work teams, and other school staff, working together to achieve high quality in the activities. Qualifications We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with credentials to teach wood and metal crafts for grades 3-5. Previous experience working with digital tools and good IT skills are merits. You are collaboration-oriented and communicative, with the ability to create good relationships and build trust through respectful and professional conduct. With a pedagogical approach and a creative attitude, you find solutions that promote student learning and development, while happily contributing new ideas and approaches. If you are newly graduated, you will be included in Gothenburg's Primary School Administration Teacher Academy's introduction program for newly certified teachers. The introduction gives you as a newly certified teacher a network with other newly certified teachers and targeted activities during your first year as a teacher. We warmly welcome your application!
