Your Assignment As a Wood and Metal Craft teacher, you teach students in grades 2-9. Your role also includes teaching students in special instruction groups and resource schools. You plan, implement, and evaluate instruction in your subject based on the curriculum. You monitor, assess, grade, and document students' knowledge development. The assignment includes shared mentorship for students in grade 7. You are responsible for the working environment and safety in the craft room during your instruction. Together with your craft colleagues, you are responsible for ordering and maintaining materials and equipment. Teaching takes place in half-classes in our well-equipped craft rooms. You introduce various techniques, teach students to sketch and plan their work, and support them throughout the entire work process—from idea to finished product. Practical activities are combined with theoretical components about materials, techniques, sustainability, recycling, reuse, and safety. You encourage students' creativity, provide space for their own ideas and expression, and convey the importance and applicability of the craft subject. Through an inclusive approach, you adapt instruction to each student's needs, interests, and circumstances. When needed, you make additional adjustments to give each student the opportunity to succeed. You are part of both a middle school team for grade 7 and a subject group for craft teachers. At the school, a total of six craft teachers work, of whom three teach wood and metal craft. Together you collaborate on students, planning, assessment, grading, pedagogical development, and systematic quality work. Your Experience For this position, you must have: • Teaching certification with subject competence in craft for grades 2-9, with specialization in wood and metal craft • Strong digital competence with experience using digital pedagogical tools • Strong ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing It is advantageous if you also have: • Experience teaching wood and metal craft • Experience working as a teacher in primary school • Experience working with students in need of additional adjustments and special support • Experience with mentorship Is This You?
