Description Katrinelundsgymnasiet and Bernadottegymnasiet are together Sweden's largest elite sports gymnasium. The schools have approximately 1,400 students, of which about half are elite sports students. The extent may depend on subject combination. You will be employed at Katrinelundsgymnasiet, but it may also be relevant to work with Bernadottegymnasiet. The position includes mentoring a class. You support, motivate, and encourage students to achieve their learning goals based on their individual abilities. You work with teaching colleagues and other staff to ensure that our students and personnel have a good learning and work environment. You plan, conduct, and follow up on instruction based on the laws, regulations, and curriculum documents that apply to teachers. You communicate the instructional objectives and clarify your assessment to the student. You assess the student's achievement of goals and assign grades according to the curriculum. In your role as mentor, you support students by having knowledge of their needs, monitoring their studies, and being involved in the goal of obtaining an upper secondary diploma. As a mentor, you build relationships with students and maintain contact with guardians. In collaboration with school leadership and colleagues, you contribute to creating favorable conditions for the school's students to thrive, develop, and achieve their goals. In collegial forums, you have the opportunity to share and further develop your subject knowledge as well as your pedagogical skills. Qualifications We are seeking someone who holds a teaching qualification and is authorized to teach at upper secondary level in Swedish and English. Swedish or English in combination with other subjects may also be of interest. Previous experience working as an upper secondary teacher is an asset. You are attentive and have the ability to explain problems and information in a pedagogical way to different audiences and from different perspectives. We are seeking someone who is flexible, understands the shared mission, acts accordingly, and contributes to the whole. You should also have the ability to make independent decisions within the scope of your assignment.
