Workplace Description
Our school, Hjulsta Elementary School, is a grades F-9 school with approximately 400 students located 100 meters from the Hjulsta metro station, the first station on the blue line. Many students come from different cultures and most have Swedish as their second language, which enriches, develops, and challenges our daily work. The school leadership consists of a principal, assistant principals, an administrative manager, and a staff of approximately 90 people, about half of whom are teachers. We have a complete student support team consisting of a guidance counselor, three special education teachers, a school counselor, a nurse, and a school psychologist.
Our students should be given the opportunity to develop their best selves with good knowledge and well-developed skills for the future. Those of us working at Hjulsta Elementary School want to make a difference, and with great commitment and extensive knowledge we work together. We are now accelerating the school's collaborative development work toward higher goal achievement. Our primary focus for the coming school year is the development of teaching that is grounded in scientific research and proven experience. Since fall 2019, Hjulsta Elementary School has intensified its work on systematically developing instruction. A lecturer position has been filled and our new lecturer has, as part of their role, responsibility for leading practice-based and research-focused development work at the school. Accessible teaching, digitalization, language and knowledge-developing instruction are other areas we prioritize, as well as collaboration between school and working life.
We live in a dynamic world and want everyone working here to be flexible and solution-oriented. With a no-nonsense approach and teamwork, most things can be solved. Now we're looking for a teacher with subject qualifications in all social studies subjects for grades 7-9 who wants to work with us and contribute to the school's development in collaboration with many competent colleagues. Your Role
Job Description
We're looking for someone who is a certified teacher qualified to teach middle school in geography, history, civics, and religion. You will, together with other social studies teachers, be responsible for student instruction in these subjects. You will be part of a middle school team and be responsible for 10-15 homeroom students.
Your Competence and Experience
You are a certified and licensed teacher in geography, religion, history, and civics. We'd like to see that you have a few years of work experience.
