Ekeskolan is located in Örebro and teaches students with visual impairments and additional disabilities from preschool through grade 10. Teaching should provide good conditions for student development and learning as well as improved academic results. Our staff work extensively with form and sensory experiences for all senses. We offer residential accommodations for students who cannot commute to school daily.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Are you looking for an exciting workplace in a school where there is time and space to work closely with each student in smaller student groups? Then you are one of the teachers we need in our Team.
We are seeking a special education teacher/teacher to teach music/aesthetic activities for students in adapted primary education with subject focus areas. One of the things all our students have in common is their interest in music and sound.
Through your pedagogical work, you will support our students with severe visual impairment/blindness combined with additional disabilities in reaching their goals. Teaching, environment, and communication are adapted to each student's needs. As a special education teacher/teacher with us, you work with instruction, pedagogical assessment, documentation, adaptation of the learning environment, monitoring, and evaluation. Collaboration with guardians is an important success factor for our students, and mentoring may be part of the position.
Work with us requires close collaboration with student assistants, students' guardians, other colleagues, and external actors such as vision centers and rehabilitation services that are important for students' health and development. You will also receive support from a special education specialist, IT educator, counselor, school psychologist, speech-language pathologist, school nurse, and physiotherapist.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has:
• Teaching qualifications to teach in adapted primary education
• Basic knowledge of child development and various disabilities
• Basic IT skills
It is advantageous if you have:
• Education in music therapy or similar
• Experience working with students with severe visual impairment combined with other disabilities
• Knowledge/experience in neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF)
• Knowledge/experience in International Child Development Programme (ICDP)
• Knowledge/experience working with students with congenital deafblindness
• Sign language support skills
