Music Teacher Grades F-9

Job Description Fredriks­hovs Castle School has approximately 300 students. The school is divided into two units: After-school/F–3 and 4–9. Thanks to our graduating students' top results, Fredrikshovs Castle School has been ranked among the five best elementary schools in Sweden according to the Swedish National School Agency statistics for several years. By forming a cohesive educational entity from pre-school through grade 9, we create the opportunity to develop teaching methods with continuity and long-term perspective, where knowledge and skills are methodically built up to the highest possible level for each student. We are now seeking an engaged and inspiring music teacher with qualifications to teach grades F–9 at our wonderful school. As a music teacher with us, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and developing music instruction from pre-school through grade 9, as well as maintaining the school's traditional celebrations and Christmas Lucia festivities. Teaching is conducted in half-classes, which creates excellent conditions for active music-making and for each student to have the opportunity to develop. Music holds an important place in the school's community and traditions. Throughout the school year, various joint arrangements and activities take place where music is a natural and valued part. We are therefore seeking someone who enjoys working creatively with others, who wants to contribute your own ideas while also valuing and wanting to further develop the traditions that exist at the school. Qualifications We are seeking someone who is a qualified and licensed music teacher authorized to teach grades F–9. You have high expectations for students' knowledge development and a strong belief that all students can develop and succeed. You are engaged in children's and young people's learning and want to help develop both music instruction and the school's operations more broadly. You are creative and resourceful and enjoy putting ideas into practice, both in your own teaching and together with colleagues. Collaboration is important to us. We are seeking someone who sees opportunities in working together with other teachers and subjects—for example, on joint projects, theme work, performances, and the school's traditions. You enjoy sharing your ideas and experiences while also being receptive to others'. You are a clear leader in the classroom, have good collaboration skills, and build trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You communicate well both verbally and in writing and have a professional and respectful manner.
