ABOUT THE JOB We are now seeking a mathematics teacher for Finnbacksskolan. Finnbacksskolan is a middle school with approximately 420 students. We have 5-6 parallel classes and four work teams, one for each grade level and one at our resource school. The work teams meet regularly in team meetings, for professional development and student wellbeing meetings. Here, teachers have the opportunity to meet regularly by subject in sector meetings and we hold joint workplace meetings every month. We collaborate with the school's student support services to ensure together that our students are well and feel safe at school. Together we build for the future through collaboration, education and new technology. The position involves teaching mathematics and other customary tasks that belong to the teaching profession. In addition to teaching and tasks related to it, you share the role of class advisor for a class together with a colleague and contribute to the enjoyable and challenging work of working with teenagers. As far as possible, we work to have two teachers present in the classroom for mathematics. You will be part of a work team for consultation and planning around your advisory class and in a sector where you collaborate to organize your teaching in your subjects. You document student development in our communication tool Infomentor and communicate assignments and other things to students via Teams. Since autumn 2024, we have worked with a scheduling model called subject weeks. The model involves concentrated and focused work sessions, with one theoretical subject per week. Subject weeks enable different ways of working, facilitate study visits and reduce the fragmentation of time for students and teachers. The hope is that the model will benefit all students and utilize their desire to learn. The schedule includes practical-aesthetic subjects and language electives every week. The work method places higher demands on the teacher in terms of variety, but at the same time it gives a lot back, especially in the relationship with the students. Within the subject, teachers are expected to have close collegial collaboration where you plan and organize teaching together. During a few concentrated weeks, we work thematically with, among other things, the school's guiding principles; together, health and future.
