Position Description and Responsibilities Teacher of Swedish, Mathematics, and Science for grades 4–6 in a special education group. About the Position In our special education group, we work with students in grades 4–9 who, for various reasons, have a history of extensive school absences and therefore need a smaller setting and strong individualized support. Because the group is small but the range is wide, you will work at an extremely differentiated level. One moment you support a student struggling with the most basic mathematical concepts; the next, you challenge a student at a very high level who needs advanced stimulation. Your main responsibilities: • Plan and deliver instruction in mathematics, Swedish, and science (biology, physics, chemistry, technology) for grades 4–6 according to the current curriculum. • Work with hands-on and practical methods to make the subjects concrete and understandable. • Use digital tools in a structured way to clarify instruction, increase accessibility, and meet students where they are. • Create a safe, predictable, and individualized learning environment where the student experiences inclusion in their own daily life. • Conduct long-term work focused on promoting good mental health alongside knowledge development. Who Are You? We are seeking a certified teacher with credentials in mathematics, Swedish, and science for upper primary grades (or equivalent qualifications we deem comparable). You are confident in your professional role and have a genuine belief that there are always opportunities for every unique student. Skogsbacksskolan is a grades F–9 school with approximately 450 students, including adapted primary education and special preschool. As a teacher, you are an important part of helping Botkyrka Municipality become Sweden's best school municipality, where students succeed and develop according to their unique abilities. In your role, you conduct instruction and related tasks such as preparation and follow-up of lessons as well as grading. You are part of a teaching team and participate in the team's collaborative work. You contribute to a positive learning environment through active participation in working groups. Together, your focus is on student learning and development. You also collaborate with other school staff. You actively participate in the school's values-based work and work inclusively. You keep yourself informed as a teacher and in your subjects through professional awareness, professional development, and collaborative learning. Mentoring is a central part of your role through social connections regarding students and classes, contact with guardians, absence management and development conversations, as well as cooperation with authorities and social services. In your role, you collaborate with the student support team. You are expected to be able to work with digital tools in your instruction. Qualifications We require that you have: • Certification and credentials to teach mathematics, Swedish, and science for grades 4–9. • Experience working to transform school absences into attendance through relationship-building and motivation work. • Experience with and familiarity using digital tools as pedagogical and organizational aids.
