Västerås folkhögskola is a worker movement-owned nonprofit organization. We have a secure financial situation and all surplus stays in the school's operations. Västerås folkhögskola is a non-profit school. Folkhögskolan is an alternative form of education where participants develop at their own pace. We are not centrally governed by curricula; instead, educators and participants have the opportunity to shape the direction, form, and content. Here, we is bigger than I. Do you have relevant education and experience teaching mathematics and natural sciences at primary and secondary levels? Do you believe in lifelong learning and think it's important as an educator to have great freedom in designing your teaching so that participants can develop at their own pace? Do you enjoy working closely with a team that creates coherence in teaching and builds learning situations where whole individuals can develop? We want you to have strong ability to adapt your teaching based on participants' different conditions and needs, and a great interest in developing your and your team's pedagogical work. You also strive for varied and creative working methods that inspire the school's participants toward continued development. Good computer skills are a requirement since we extensively use computers as a tool in teaching. We see it as a significant advantage if you are a socially engaged person with experience in nonprofit organizations and have talents in other subject areas. Folkhögskolan is an educational form where we offer equivalent primary and secondary school subjects, and those who study with us become eligible for the next level of education. We do not fall under Skolverket and do not conduct national tests, for example. You can read more about our activities on the school's website.
