The Preschool and Primary Education Department is one of Varberg Municipality's largest departments with nearly 2,200 employees. Within our areas of operation—preschool, primary education, and child and student health—we are here for children and students – together we shape the future. Furubergsskolan is a grades F-5 school located in central Varberg with approximately 300 students. The school has age-homogeneous classes with accompanying afterschool programs. For students in grades 3-5, we have an afterschool department. At Furubergsskolan, we strive for students to have influence over their education, an influence that is adapted to their age and maturity. They should gain knowledge of and develop their ability to work in democratic forms. Our goal is to educate and nurture our students into independent and responsible individuals. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a teacher with us, you have a central role in creating a safe, developmental, and motivating environment where we together create the best possible learning encounter. By planning, implementing, and following up on your instruction, you give students the conditions to grow based on their unique needs and goals. Main responsibilities: • Teaching in grades 1-6 in mathematics and science • Plan, lead, and evaluate instruction based on curriculum documents and chosen didactic strategies. • Meet each student in their knowledge progression and strengthen their creativity, curiosity, and self-esteem through professional leadership. • Develop stimulating learning environments that encourage learning, participation, and student influence. • Work toward a holistic view of the student's school day through close collaboration with colleagues and guardians. • Actively participate in the school's systematic quality work and contribute to a formative approach in daily pedagogy. QUALIFICATIONS For us, it is important that you have a genuine commitment to the teaching profession and see it as a meaningful task to make a difference for children and young people. You are a secure pedagogical leader who with warmth and clarity provides guidance and creates the structure needed for a safe learning environment. For you, collaboration with colleagues is a prerequisite for success; you work without ego to develop the operation together with others. You are skilled at building relationships and create trusting contacts with both students and guardians. You have good intuition for the group, are flexible, possess didactic ability, and adapt your methods based on students' different needs, knowledge progression, and disposition. We are looking for you who: • Have teacher certification with qualification for teaching mathematics and science in grades 1-6. • Have the ability to base your instruction on proven experience and scientific foundation. • Demonstrate skill in planning and systematically following up activities within given frameworks. • Have good assessment ability to follow up on student development and provide constructive feedback. • Possess clear planning ability to structure lessons and work areas.
