Your Work Tasks As an after-school care teacher, your starting point is to work with planning, instruction, evaluation, and value-based work based on the curriculum. The work is carried out both independently and in collaboration with colleagues. As an after-school care teacher, you see the student's entire school day as important. During the mornings, you collaborate and support students in the preschool class and year 1, then take over and lead instruction in the after-school care program in the afternoon. The role includes: Creating challenging, varied, and meaningful instruction in after-school care based on the student group you meet. Teaching and leading activities. Being a driving force in collegial collaboration and developing quality work at after-school care together with your colleagues. You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous occasions. To support student learning, as well as your own and the program's development, you draw on the experiences and knowledge of different professionals. Collaborating closely with both colleagues and guardians to contribute to student safety, language development, and high achievement of goals. Your Workplace Tannefors School is the small school in the middle of town, located near Snuggan Park and the green spaces along the Stångå River. With approximately 165 students and one class in each grade level (F–6), we have an atmosphere where proximity and relationships are at the center. Here you will be part of a staff of 23 engaged colleagues. We are proud of our safe environment where, through cross-grade activities, we strive to ensure every child is seen. You will be part of the after-school care team. Our after-school care program is led by a lead after-school care teacher and a team leader and consists of two departments where we work with mixed-age groups. About You First and foremost, we are looking for someone who has teaching certification with qualifications in after-school care. Secondly, we are looking for someone with a diploma or completed education as an after-school care teacher. Alternatively, you are nearing the end of your education to become an after-school care teacher. It is meritorious if you have qualifications to teach multiple subjects for grades F-6, based on the program's needs. It is a requirement that you have experience as a teacher in a curriculum-based after-school care program, through practice or as an employee. It is meritorious if you have worked as an after-school care teacher for at least one school year. It is meritorious if you have experience working with students who need special support, for example NPF (neuropsychiatric functions), and have previously worked in a preschool class. Other experience of pedagogical assignments within primary school grades F-6 is also considered meritorious. In your role as an after-school care teacher, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in spoken and written Swedish. This is so that, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), you can organize and carry out work in a way that supports the student's language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way. As an after-school care teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your instruction to students and let them participate in shaping the instruction. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for student development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in society that appear in your professional role.
