We are Mjölby Municipality. Together, we deliver services, build society, and exercise public authority. Our work benefits society with the citizen's wellbeing in focus—throughout life. The Education Administration is one of Mjölby Municipality's six departments and is responsible for preschool, elementary school, upper secondary school, adapted elementary and upper secondary school, and adult education. With approximately 1,000 employees, we offer education that promotes all children and students in lifelong learning and work according to the vision "high academic achievement in a school where everyone can and wants to be." We place great emphasis on working closely with our operations through regular dialogue and support to school leaders and teachers based on our governance structure. Lejonbackens School is a newly built grades F–6 school where we together create a safe, accessible, and inspiring environment for approximately 600 students. The school is situated close to nature with the beautiful forest area Måndalen directly adjacent to the grounds, providing unique opportunities for outdoor pedagogy and outdoor activities. To provide students with rich and varied after-school program activities, we have access to the school's well-designed and modern specialist and craft rooms (visual arts, home and consumer studies, and textile and woodworking). At Lejonbackens School, we work with the student in focus. All adults at the school share responsibility for our children. The school has a comprehensive student support team that includes a counselor, school nurse, and psychologist. We also have access to special education teachers and special educators to support our work in achieving high academic achievement in a school where everyone can and wants to be. We believe that a climate where we respect one another, treat each other with kindness and tolerance, and take responsibility for ourselves and others—both adults and children—is a prerequisite for a functioning school. Do you recognize yourself in our view of responsibility, respect, and community—and want to help put it into practice? 1 position(s). RESPONSIBILITIES Teacher with a focus on after-school program work. In this role, you will have the exciting and unique task of starting up and developing the after-school program for our older students ages 10–12 (grades 4, 5, and 6). You will build the program from the ground up and create a safe, meaningful, and stimulating after-school environment adapted to the needs and interests of older students. Within school collaboration, you are responsible for music instruction in grades 4–6. In the afternoons, you are a pedagogue skilled in children's communication, leisure time, and culture. The assignment involves meeting students between ages 6 and 12 before, after, and during the school day and prioritizing students' social development. Based on the goals set for the program, you as an after-school teacher will collaborate with other staff members and create quality educational activities aimed at promoting children's and youth's learning and development. As an after-school teacher, you inspire children and youth toward new discoveries and interests, and you take significant responsibility for social education during students' breaks. QUALIFICATIONS The position requires teacher certification with a focus on after-school program work and eligibility to teach music in grades 4–6. You demonstrate good ethics and sound values. You advocate for equal opportunities both within the organization and in society at large. You have the ability to communicate clearly and convey credibility and confidence. You have the ability to deliver presentations, lectures, and training sessions and can adapt these to the audience's needs and feedback. You have the ability to carefully analyze and assess various types of data in order to draw well-considered conclusions and create functional solutions. Because you are entering a startup phase, it is important that you are resourceful, confident in your assignment, and passionate about building new structures in collaboration with colleagues and students. Experience working with older students in after-school programs and interest in creative subjects and outdoor pedagogy are merits. We are a safe and sustainable employer. Large enough to offer employees good working conditions and exciting opportunities for development. Small enough for close collaboration, participation, and influence. With a focus on our mission to benefit society, we create space for personal responsibility and creativity. Together, we drive the municipality and sustainable societal development forward. Employment Type: Permanent employment. Duration: Permanent, start date: January 5, 2027. With your application, please attach relevant educational certificates and diplomas that support your CV.
