Svalövs Montessori is seeking an experienced teacher for our after-school program. In our after-school setting, we prioritize creativity, movement, and experiences. Approximately half of the 120 students at Mellanskolan attend our program. Mellanskolan has three floors and is staffed with 5-4-3 educators. We are looking for someone who works well with students during their most significant developmental years. Our after-school program is led and coordinated by our wonderful physical education and health teacher. The cornerstone of Montessori pedagogy—the freedom to choose—is our guiding principle. Children learn best when they have the freedom to move, choose their own work, and pursue their interests. This freedom operates within boundaries of respect for oneself, respect for others, and respect for the environment. We are seeking someone who is trained as an after-school pedagogue or after-school leader. You need both flexibility and experience in pedagogical work with children ages 6-11 years. It is desirable if you have worked within a Montessori setting, have Montessori training, or otherwise have experience with and knowledge of the pedagogy. Svalövs Montessori has existed since 1976 and is today a clear alternative with a positive belief in experience-based learning.
