Description Are you our next colleague? We are now seeking a teacher for Grade 1 at Kärrdalsskolan for a one-year substitute position starting in the spring term of 2027. Kärrdalsskolan is a small single-stream F-5 school with approximately 175 motivated students and 20 dedicated staff members. The school is beautifully located next to an idyllic forest area adjacent to a residential neighborhood in central Hisingen. Responsibilities In your role, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating instruction in accordance with the curriculum. As a Grade 1 teacher, you play an important role in laying the foundation for students' continued learning, with a particular focus on early literacy, writing, and mathematics development. You create a safe, stimulating, and structured learning environment that promotes academic engagement and provides students with good conditions to develop according to their individual needs. You work closely with your parallel colleague and school recreation staff who work with the grade level to create a cohesive school day for students. Your responsibilities also include documenting and communicating with guardians through the digital class platform. You are responsible for creating individual education plans (IUP), writing written assessments, and conducting development conversations. You also participate in the school's development work and team meetings. Qualifications We are looking for you to be a certified teacher with broad authorization to teach Swedish, mathematics, English, science, social studies, and technology. Experience with early grade levels and work with assessments and assessment support is advantageous. We are seeking someone who is collaborative and sees the value in working closely with colleagues on the teaching team, where you collectively drive pedagogical development work. You have a deeply pedagogical approach, with the ability to adapt instruction to students' different needs and circumstances, thereby creating engagement and meaning in learning. You are organized, clear, and create safety and academic focus in instruction through present and relationship-building leadership. You are flexible and can handle unexpected situations, and you are open to trying new methods and approaches. Finally, you are communicative and express yourself clearly and trustworthily, both with students and in collaboration with guardians and colleagues. For newly graduated teachers, you will participate in Gothenburg's Primary School Administration Teacher Academy's introduction program for newly certified teachers. The introduction provides you with a network of other newly certified teachers and targeted activities during your first year as a teacher.
