Teacher - After-School Program/Recreation Pedagogue

We welcome your application! The Workplace Gräsmyr School, after-school program, and preschool are centrally located in the village. It's a school with grades F-6, approximately 65 students. Teaching is conducted in B-form, meaning mixed-age classes: F-1, 2-3, 4-5, or grades 4, 5-6 depending on student numbers and school year. We have a strong community and collaboration across all programs where everyone knows each other and we can leverage each other's strengths. The after-school program at Gräsmyr has approximately 25 children in an age-mixed group with 2 staff members. We have close collaboration with the preschool regarding opening and closing times. Around the area, there are ski trails and beautiful nature to explore. The school yard with proximity to the forest is our outdoor asset. The Role and Responsibilities As a teacher in the after-school program/recreation pedagogue, you'll work with colleagues to develop and run activities with a focus on student learning, safety, and well-being. The role includes work in the after-school program, collaboration during the school day, and planning and conducting recess activities for younger students. With us, you will, among other things: Plan, implement, and evaluate activities that stimulate student development, creativity, and desire to learn. Manage and develop the educational program in the after-school setting based on curriculum goals. Collaborate with school staff to create a cohesive and meaningful day for students. Organize and lead recess activities for younger children that contribute to a safe, active, and inclusive environment. Build strong relationships with children, guardians, and colleagues to promote each child's development and well-being. Your Profile We're looking for someone with a pedagogical education in primary school/after-school programs. Experience working in after-school programs is a merit. To thrive in the role of after-school teacher, you are a confident and engaged person who easily builds strong relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are creative, resourceful, and able to plan and conduct activities that stimulate student development and learning.
