The Preschool and Primary School Administration is one of Varberg Municipality's largest administrations with nearly 2,200 employees. Within our areas of operation—preschool, primary school, and child and student health—we are here for children and students. Together, we shape the future. Furubergsskolan is located in central Varberg. The school houses 300 students in grades F-5. The school is adjacent to a large outdoor and forest area used for outdoor recreation and outdoor pedagogy. 1 position(s). WORK DUTIES Motivating and inspiring students is your greatest driving force. As an after-school care teacher with us, you play a central role in creating a safe, developmental, and motivating environment for students where we create the best possible conditions for learning. Together with your colleagues, you shape a relational leadership approach where the quality of instruction is in focus. By planning, implementing, and following up on your varied teaching, you give students the opportunity to develop both socially and academically. You work to strengthen their creativity, curiosity, and self-esteem through play, creative activities, and movement. Part of your working time will be scheduled at both after-school care and school. The remaining time you will serve as a substitute for both after-school care and school for any absent personnel. This means that you may teach all subjects in grades F-5 based on existing lesson plans. Examples of work duties: - Shape instruction that is grounded in scientific evidence and proven experience. - Take responsibility for clear leadership that promotes student learning, participation, and influence. - Plan and follow up on after-school care instruction based on your choice of pedagogical and didactic strategies, adapted to students' needs. - Meet each student in their learning progression and contribute to developing accessible learning environments. - Collaborate with colleagues to create continuity in students' learning throughout the school day. - Take responsibility for being a good role model and contribute to an organization for planning and evaluation of instruction. QUALIFICATIONS As an after-school care teacher, you are engaged and have a formative approach with the ability to create motivating and engaging instruction. Your teaching is grounded in proven experience and scientific evidence with an exploratory approach. You thrive in collaboration with colleagues and actively contribute to developing the organization by planning and following up on instruction together. You have good structure in your work and can adapt instruction based on students' needs and school goals. Together, we have the responsibility to create a sustainable work environment where both students and staff can thrive, grow, and develop. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. To succeed in this role, you have: - Teacher certification with authorization to teach in after-school care. - A holistic view of learning and instruction where you see the possibilities in supporting students' development throughout the school day. - Good assessment skills to follow up on student development and provide constructive feedback. - Clear planning ability to structure lessons and work areas in a clear manner. - Good didactic ability to translate the curriculum's purpose into practical activities. - Good collaboration skills and a relationship-building approach.
