About the Organization At Erikslund Adapted Primary School, we welcome students in grades 1-9 from throughout Borås every day. We conduct extensive collaborations with the municipality's community organizations and strive to provide our students with an engaging school experience on their terms. Well-structured instruction and confidence in students' inherent willingness and ability to learn is our starting point. The school also has after-school care/KTS for all our students. We are now moving into the City of Borås's newest school building. This means we're moving into completely new facilities with excellent conditions for conducting adapted primary education. Together with your colleagues, you'll now have the chance to help build the operation so that it becomes the best it can be. Job Responsibilities You will work as a class teacher at Erikslund Adapted Primary School where we have students from grades 1-9. At Erikslund Adapted Primary School, we strive for differentiated instruction that allows all students to succeed in their learning, which requires you as a teacher to meet students with a responsive, structured, and calm approach. Each class has a teaching teacher plus additional resources in the form of student assistants/support pedagogues/engagement pedagogues. As a class teacher, you are ultimately responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating instruction at both group and individual levels based on students' needs and conditions. Together with your colleagues on the class team, you drive and develop the work so that it benefits all students. You establish clear goals and plan instruction systematically, organizationally, and methodically. You ensure that work is completed, follow up on results, and view documentation and assessment of students' academic development as an integral part of your work. Qualifications You are a certified teacher for primary school. We would prefer that in addition to your teacher certification, you are trained as a special education teacher with a focus on intellectual disabilities. If you have previously worked as a teacher in grades 1-3 or 4-6 in primary school, or have experience working as a class teacher or special education teacher at an adapted primary school, this is a merit. You have knowledge and work experience within intellectual disabilities and experience with children with neurodevelopmental variations. Your approach is that children do the right thing if they can, and you adapt your behavior and communication to create conditions for students to interpret different situations and contexts. As a person, you are calm and meet students with a low-key approach, and you encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement. You have good collaboration skills and are skilled at creating and maintaining good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. It is a merit if you have knowledge of reading and writing instruction as well as augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). You are well familiar with the curriculum and other governing documents.
