The school is located in a quiet area with forest and nature right at its doorstep. We have close access to our own school forest and other outdoor facilities. Our bright facilities are newly renovated, spacious, and well-designed. Those of us who work at Björkhöjdskolan are engaged and have built up and developed the school into an F-6 school. We have approximately 300 students divided into two parallel classes in each grade level and four after-school programs. Björkhöjdskolan has a hearing profile, which means we offer instruction for students with hearing impairments or cochlear implants (CI) who are starting in preschool or grade 7. Together, we create a safe and warm atmosphere as the foundation for student learning. Responsibilities You will work as a class teacher in grade 1. In your work, you plan, implement, and evaluate your instruction individually and together with your colleagues in your team. Based on your qualifications, you will teach the subjects you are certified to teach. In the team, you learn from one another, plan interdisciplinary work, and solve challenges. We place great value on your commitment and pedagogical expertise. You enjoy being a teacher and meeting children from different backgrounds and circumstances. You are skilled at communicating and can collaborate well. If you are a newly graduated teacher, you will have the opportunity to work with a mentor during your first year with us. Qualifications We are looking for a licensed teacher with certification to teach grades F-3 or alternatively F-6 who is well-versed in the curriculum. It is a merit if you can use sign language as support (TAKK). We would like to see that you also: Have an interest in driving development Demonstrate good leadership qualities and can create safety and order in the classroom and at school. Have experience working with students from different backgrounds and circumstances. Have strong communication skills and can create and maintain good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Have a collaborative spirit and can be flexible. Are creative and can work both independently and as part of a team. It is a merit if you have broad certification, experience working in multilingual environments, and/or are certified to teach Swedish as a Second Language and have knowledge within NPF.
