About the operation
Björkhöjdskolan 7-9 opened in autumn 2021 and is an F-9 school with a hearing profile. The school has two principals and is divided into two units, F-6 and 7-9.
Knowledge, collaboration, and external contacts are important for the future. We want our students to reach as far as they can and be challenged at their level. Our classrooms are newly renovated and the rooms for science, home economics, crafts, music, and art also have new equipment. The sports hall is large and school meals are prepared on-site. Björkhöjdskolan 7-9 is centrally located with nature just around the corner.
Responsibilities
Your work will consist of teaching mathematics as well as two of four science subjects in grades 7-9. We expect you to be well familiar with the school's governing documents and to focus on goals, results, and quality. You work independently and see how, through your teaching, you challenge students in a positive way to foster a desire to learn and opportunity to succeed.
You have high and positive expectations for all students. Your approach is motivating and you work with significant student involvement to give students different opportunities to develop. You enjoy meeting young people with different backgrounds and circumstances. You show this by planning, conducting, and evaluating your teaching based on students' needs.
You work very well with other people, you are receptive and flexible in your approach, and you resolve any disagreements and conflicts calmly and constructively, based on a low-key communication style. As a person, you also have good self-awareness and are willing to develop in this area, together with other colleagues on the unit.
Qualifications
You are a licensed teacher, primarily with qualifications to teach mathematics in grades 7-9 and preferably in two science subjects for grades 7-9. Your leadership skills are strong and you have a good ability to support students—individually and together with colleagues—in their comprehensive knowledge development and learning in your subject. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively, and you find it easy to create and maintain good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. As a person, you plan, organize, and prioritize your work efficiently and set and maintain deadlines. You help students believe in themselves through continuous feedback and you are receptive to your students' opinions and needs.
