Aspebodaskolan is a school with approximately 140 students distributed across seven classes from preschool through grade 6. Class sizes vary between 15-24 students per class. The school is located in a rural setting between Falun and Borlänge – only about 9 miles from each city. We have a varied outdoor school area and a pleasant indoor environment. At the school, teachers, after-school instructors, and student assistants work together in close collaboration in a positive spirit. Our task as school staff is to meet each student based on their individual circumstances. This means meeting all students – both those who need additional support in their development and those who need greater challenges to reach their full potential. Responsibilities In the role of substitute teacher, you are expected to plan lessons and follow up on student development, collaborate with other educators and staff, and maintain contact with guardians. Qualifications The position requires: You are a certified teacher with credentials for the relevant grade levels. You have a strong ability to plan and conduct lessons. Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. Personal Qualities As a person, you easily make independent decisions with students' best interests as a clear starting point. You are confident in your profession and can lead a student group with both structure and warmth. You enjoy collaborating well with colleagues and have an open and respectful approach to guardians. We also see that you are unpretentious, attentive, and have great patience – qualities that help you create a safe and inclusive learning environment. We are seeking someone who enjoys teaching and actively contributes to a positive work environment. You have a genuine desire to support students in their development and to be a stable and engaged adult in their daily lives. Desirable Qualifications Driver's license and access to your own car, as local transportation has limited service to the school. Experience working with students with special needs. Employment Terms The position is a permanent full-time employment, with start date to be arranged as soon as possible.
